The former Liverpool defender has named Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka on Sky Sports as the Best Young Player in the Premier League this season. The Sky Sports pundit has said that the 21-year-old has been fantastic for the Gunners this campaign. Carragher made the comments about the England international on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports. The pundit, though, believes that Norway international attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard has been the best player for Arsenal this season. Carragher said about Saka: ”I love him. I think he has been fantastic. Odegaard has been Arsenal’s best player, I just did not pick Odegaard because he is too old – 24 seems too old to be the young player.”

The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the 21-year-old Seagulls star, with Mikel Arteta looking to bolster his midfield ahead of the 2023/24 season. It is understood that Brighton are now resigned to losing Caicedo this summer when a suitable bid arrives.
