Exclusive: Club now willing to sell 21-yr-old to Arsenal for huge fee

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the 21-year-old Seagulls star, with Mikel Arteta looking to bolster his midfield ahead of the 2023/24 season.

It is understood that Brighton are now resigned to losing Caicedo this summer when a suitable bid arrives.

Sources have told Football Insider that Brighton’s change of mind is a ‘huge boost’ to Arsenal’s chances of landing the Ecuador international.

Caicedo signed a bumper contract with Brighton that is set to run until 2027 after Arsenal’s winter bid was rejected, but it is understood that the new deal involves a transfer clause that is set to become active this summer.

The full details of the clause are unknown, but well-placed sources assured this site that it would accelerate Caicedo’s Brighton exit this summer.
